Accredited Breeder Scheme Visit

Apologies - This should have been posted on Friday and was somehow saved in drafts, and not published!

Today was our turn to be assessed as part of the AB scheme operated by the Kennel Club.  After spending a few hours in the company of one of the Regional Assessors who checked all of our records, premises, dogs etc we are pleased to confirm that we met all of the criteria with no recommendations.

The dogs all enjoyed having the opportunity to meet and greet, giving a lovely impression of both breeds.

Just a few pics from the past few days.

Out In The Paddock

With only the three pups here it's much easier to shepherd them in and out, certainly when there's only one of us here.  I thought that they might enjoy a trip out on the grass in the paddock, it's not been dry enough until now and they looked liked they would enjoy a bit of an adventure.

Carefully carried down the steps, they quickly found there top gear!  Spell was trying to go so fast that her legs couldn't keep up and found herself nose first in the grass!  She was not deterred and carried on regardless.

Lots of smells and different things to investigate, which included the dog walk -  maybe a few potential agility dogs here. Pumpkin (who else!) found some water that had collected in the slide that is stored under the trampoline and went for a splash.

Now all fed and tucked up in the warm, just waiting for their next adventure.

Starting New Lives

Well that time has now arrived where we have started see the pups going to start new lives with their new families.  As with all of our puppies we hope to see plenty of them, either in person or contributing to the blog as they grow up.

If it wasn't busy enough with preparing all of the necessary paperwork etc for the pups leaving, we had our KC Accredited Breeder inspection.  So Friday we welcomed one of the assessors into our home to meet us, the dogs and puppies.  They also inspected all of our record keeping, and the general welfare and health of our dogs.  We were thrilled to pass the inspection without any recommendations.

Now there are only three pups here, it feels so strange to just do a head count for the three and call them the 'girls' rather than Toby & girls!

They've all spent a bit of time around a larger area of the house, particularly when the weather has been so bad.  They've really taken a liking to the raised bed in the kitchen, and love to chase around any furniture.

My, Haven't We Grown!

Well it was another busy weekend, a school Christmas Fayre on Saturday, so no girls to help with the pups and then visitors on the Sunday.

The pups have certainly grown and come on in the last week, and it's nearly time for them to leave us and join their respective new family's.  The puppy packs have been organised and Woody's owners have kindly printed out the pedigrees for them all.

Just a few pics from the last few days for you all.

Terrible Weather But Extra Cuddles

The weather has been awful this week, but a huge improvement today which was at least dry if a bit chilly.  Pups love to go outside and have a play, though we've had to move a few plant pots and tubs as they were being attacked.  They're quite heavy to carry in and out, so at times they are encouraged to follow one of us either in or out - but not always very successfully!  They are just so entertaining to watch interacting with each other and with the bigger dogs.  Trio loves them to bits and is often found resting her head on the side of the box watching them, waiting for them to wake up though I think.

My nanna is staying for a few weeks with my parents, so we had four generations of  pedigree dog lovers in the house yesterday, it must be down to the genes!

More Pics

Some more pics that were taken at the weekend, these are more formal pics of the pups stacked to give a better idea of their conformation. The pups were very well behaved, and although not perfect give a reasonable idea of their structure at this stage.

Loving being the centre of attention

We've had more visitors this weekend, and I have to say the pups love being the centre of attention!  They are lapping up all of the extra cuddles, as are the other dogs, with the two munsters trying very hard to sway peoples choice of breed.

They have really come on, grown loads and have become little fluff balls with all of their coat.  Pumpkins continues to be an entertainer, but not quite what we want when we come down to 'rescue' her from climbing out of the whelping box during the night.  We can't do anything to make the entrance any higher as Tilly will be unable to climb in and out during the night.  We've never had a toller pup do this before!!

Again the weather has been dry over the last few days and they have been enjoying going out for a few visits on the patio to have a play.

The selection of pics were taken by our visitors today.

Outside Fun

Well they've been much happier spending time outside the last few days.  They have had some playtime outside for each of their daytime feeds, but not breakfast as it's just not been warm enough.  They've had great fun exploring, meeting the other dogs and having a play with a selection of toys that have been put out for them.  All under careful supervision, and then back in for a sleep to recharge their batteries.

The other dogs are delighted to meet them properly at last, and the two munsters try and gather all of the toys up for themselves!

Poor teddy has disappeared!!  And he is greatly missed, he was last seen two days ago drying out on the decking drying out after taking a dip in the water bowl!!  Reward offered! - current suspects are two black and white dogs acting suspiciously.

Sleeping positions getting stranger and stranger!!

More strange sleeping positions!  Pumpkin had already been rescued from the water bowl after falling asleep in it earlier on!

Five Weeks!

Apologies for not posting, it's been a really busy week and complicated with ill children.  All getting back to normal now, although Christmas is looming now....

Well these pups are certainly little individuals now!  It's much easier to distinguish them all, which is good as they are rapidly outgrowing their collars now.

They are now on four meals a day, and have got used too the daily routine of meal times.  They aren't as bothered now with having a top up from Tilly after each meal, however Tilly is as keen as ever to clean up after the pups.  As a result of Tilly not feeding them as she was a week ago her food has decreased and her exercise increased too.  She has been enjoying coming out and about again with the other dogs, and it's great to see her getting her fitness back.

The weather has been dry but cold, so still limited on when they go outside.  Today was lovely sunshine so they had about an hour outside in the run on the patio.  They were much happier and had a play with the toys that had been put out for them.  The other dogs were able to say hello to them and the pups enjoyed watching them come and go.  When it was time to come in they were allowed to have 5 mins on the patio with the other dogs, all were more than happy to engage with them as long as they didn't try to suckle from them!

The girls have made some fleece tuggies for the pups - saves them trying to chew each other!

Tuggy or tail???
